10 Instagrammable Spots in Austin for Dogs
There’s no denying that Austin is an all-around beautiful city. So, we wanted to share some of that beauty with y’all with 10 Instagrammable spots in Austin so that you can take pictures of your pups (because why else do our phones have cameras).
Mount Bonnell
With one of the best lake views in Austin, Mount Bonnell is an amazing alternative to the typical “360 Bridge” photo, making it one of the best Instagrammable spots in Austin. The lighting is usually perfect here, there is plenty of space for multiple groups of picture takers and the hike up is made up of stairs instead of rocks.
Address: 3800 Mount Bonnell Rd
Jo’s Coffee Mural
As “cliché” as this one might be, it’s an Austin staple and I will fight you on that. Located on South Congress on the north side wall of Jo’s Coffee, the “I Love You So Much” mural by local musician Amy Cook makes for amazing pictures.
Address: 1300 S Congress
Auditorium Shores
A lot of you may know about the off-leash dog park at Auditorium Shores. And while that may be a great spot for action and lake pictures, if you walk just a little further east, you’ll come upon a large field with one of the best skyline views in town.
Address: 900 W Riverside Dr
Erin Condren at the Domain NORTHSIDE
An incredible organization brand, Erin Condren has one of the most colorful stores in town making it an absolutely Insta-worthy spot. Whether you’re snapping pics at the mural on the side of the store or on the rainbow staircase inside, please be mindful of people who are actually shopping.
Address: 11601 Rock Rose Ave #128
Butter Half Mural
An Austin staple, this mural is perfect for those adorable “mom-and-pup” pictures or if you have multiple dogs. They’ve recently added a deck to it so that pictures are easier to set up! Be mindful of your dog as you’re taking pictures as the mural is right off of a busy road.
Address: 2000 E. MLK Blvd
Flower Vault
A spot that was made for Instagrammable pictures. Now, this is the only paid location I will include, which should say something. While it’s not necessarily cheap ($20 per person and $10 per dog), the lighting and installations at Flower Vault are definitely worth it if you’re wanting to get unique pictures that normally aren’t available in the “wild”. The installations are seasonal, so always be sure to check what they have before booking!
Address: 3306 Esperanza Crossing Ste
Vista Brewing
While not technically a “picture spot”, Vista has a plethora of land in the Texas Hill Country, making it a perfect place for outdoorsy pictures, plus you knew I had to include a brewery. Leashed dogs are welcome inside their sleek taproom, as well as on the rest of the grounds.
Address: 13551 Ranch To Market Rd 150
Red Bud Isle
An off-leash dog park/island, Red Bud is made up of woodsy areas and “coastlines” made up of stunning roots that make for beautiful pictures, making it a favorite spot for Austinites with dogs. Keep in mind, the parking lot is small so there is oftentimes a wait to get into the parking lot.
Address: 3401 Red Bud Trail
Greetings From Austin Mural
This mural is the perfect Austin-esque picture spot. Not only is it a gorgeous piece of art by Tom Sanders, but it includes details and paintings from some Austin classic spots like the Capitol, UT Tower, Barton Springs and much more! As with most murals, this is right off a very busy road, so keep those pups close to you.
Address: 1720 South 1st Street
Blanton Museum of Art
I wanted to throw in something a little more architectural and modern on our list, and the Blanton Museum is that and much more. Located on the UT Campus (don’t worry, there’s plenty of parking nearby), this small yet stunning museum is the perfect backdrop for pictures. I mean, look at that building!
Address: 200 E MLK Blvd
