day trippin’ to Chicago from ATX 🤪🌭🌃 w day trippin’ to Chicago from ATX 🤪🌭🌃 we decided we have so many places in the US that we have yet to explore, but also prioritize longer trips outside of the country, so “Playing Hooky” for a day to explore a new city was our best of both worlds solution we set some loose ground rules for this series: we have to fly there and back in one day to save $$ on hotel costs, it’s gotta be a new-to-us city or one we haven’t really explored, nonstop flights only, and we’ll try to do this once a month (but realize life may get in the way) and so for this first one, I wanted to pick a city that’s been on our list for sooooo long… Chicago!!! It was truly the perfect day and scratched the itch of exploring, while allowing us to head home & sleep in our own bed at the end of the day where should we go next?! s/o to @southwestair for having the perfect routes for this out of ATX (and flexible policies in case you happen to miss your flight…) as for the pups, they had a normal day at home with visits from their favorite people throughout the day 😋 Brooklyn asked if she could come on the next one though… this idea was heavily inspired by @onthemovewithmad and her Out n Back series, Maddie you are amazing!!! _ #femaletravelbloggers #travelcouple #austintx #visitchicago #southwestairlines #daytrips #travelcreator

in case anyone else felt a sudden urge to move abr in case anyone else felt a sudden urge to move abroad this week 🥹 listen, I understand how big of a privilege it is to be able to even consider this as an option. but… if you’re looking around at visas and options, I want to make sure you know it’s possible to bring your dogs along. here’s some more info 👇🏽 ✈️ TRANSPORTATION + COST // airplane hold or cargo — where the dogs are underneath your plane in a kennel. May have size + weather constraints. Can range between ~$400-$8,000 in our experience + the cost of their kennel and your flight shared charter plane — AKA @k9jets_ or @barkair, dogs are in the cabin with you on a small plane, along with up to 10 other pet parents + their pets. No breed or size restrictions. Can range between $8,000-$16,000 depending on destination, and includes you + your dogs flight 🚨 code HERBOOZYTAILS gets y’all some $$ off your @k9jets_ bookings a sailing on @cunardline QM2 — the only transatlantic cruise that allows dogs, but they must stay in the on-board boarding facility. From US to UK or Germany, but there are breed + size restrictions. Cost of their sailing is ~$5K + $1,000+ for your dog 📄 MISC all countries have different entry requirements, so check the USDA website for the country you’re moving to/entering. international health certificates generally need to be completed within a few days of your departure, so plan accordingly. These usually will run you $300-$600 the UK is one of the countries with the most restrictions + rules if you’re in mainland Europe (Schengen) plan on getting your dogs an EU pet passport asap upon arrival I know this seems like a lot, and there’s still a lot that I haven’t covered.
