Austin Beer,  Dog-Friendly

Austin Dog-Friendly Brewery Directory

Hello dog people! As you know by now, the entire GGW household loves beer … like, some people say we might have a problem. You know what we say to those people? Cheers! We’re proud of our craft beer obsession.

However, given that more than half of our household is made up of dogs, finding great breweries that are dog-friendly is a must.

We’ve tried (just about) every brewery in Austin and therefore present y’all our Austin Brewery Directory for Dog Owners! These are all of the Austin-area breweries with descriptions of their dog-friendliness.

With our trusty guide, you’ll never have to scour the internet or call each brewery individually to find out whether or not they allow dogs! Just hop down this list (which is in alphabetical order) and enjoy some beers.

If you’re looking for even more dog-friendly spots in Austin, make sure to check out this post.

Adelbert’s

Dog-friendly patio.

We do not recommend Adelbert’s as a dog-friendly spot. While we love their indoor space, dogs are not allowed inside and their covered patio can get crowded and stuffy. If you’re wanting to try some of their innovative brews, we recommend leaving the dogs at home!

Austin Beer Garden Brewing (ABGB)

Dog-friendly patio.

We love the ABGB for many reasons (don’t get us started on their pizza), the biggest of which is how dog-friendly and supportive they are. They have a great, partly-shaded patio which frequently hosts dog events benefiting local rescues.

Austin Beerworks

Dog-friendly patio.

While we adore Austin Beerworks for their beer, it wasn’t until recently that we started taking our pups along with us to their brewery. Why? Dogs used to not be allowed on their turfed patio, but now they are! So grab those puppers and enjoys some of the best brews in town!

Beerburg Brewing

Dog-friendly patio and fenced-in dog park.

The newest brewery along what I call the “Beermuda Triangle” (you know what I’m talking about), Beerburg has a huge dog-friendly beer garden for you and your pup to hang out in. Since they do make food in-house, pups are not allowed in the taproom, but that’s okay because they have their very own fenced-in dog park on the grounds. Great job targetting the dog owners, Beerburg!

Bell Springs Brewing Company

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Chalk another one up to the Hill Country — Bell Springs Brewing opened next to their 10-year-old winery and is already serving up some incredible brews. They have a huge beer/wine garden to bring the pups to, plus their air-conditioned taproom is also dog-friendly.

Bluebonnet Beer Company

Dog-friendly taproom and patio

Bluebonnet crafts some delicious brews out of their quaint brewery, which allows dogs inside and outside. However, the brewery can get pretty crowded so plan on getting there early if you want a spot inside.

Blue Owl Brewing

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Whether you’re a sour (beer) person or not, we always recommend people to go at least try one of Blue Owl’s beers. The best part is dogs are allowed in their taproom and covered patio, however it can get crowded fast so be sure to get there early to nab a spot in the AC.

Brewtorium

Dog-friendly patio.

While we love this place, they unfortunately don’t allow dogs in their taproom. However, they do have a nicely shaded patio that welcomes dogs, but there isn’t a lot of air-flow so it can get pretty warm. Still worth it if you can make it on a not-so-hot day!

Central District Brewing

Not dog-friendly.

Unfortunately, due to city regulations Central District is not dog-friendly at all.

Central Machine Works

The only thing “micro” about this microbrewery is their beer production, only having one to three of their own beers on tap at a time. However, their huge dog-friendly makes up for it, and they have plenty of other guest beers for you to drink while you visit.

Celis Brewery

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

We recommend Celis to everyone with a dog because, duh, AC! Yup, they allow dogs both inside their taproom and outside on their patio/parking lot area.

Circle Brewing Company

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

While there is no AC, dog’s are allowed inside their taproom (which stays fairly cool due to multiple fans) and on their covered patio. The taproom is pretty small, so we recommend getting there early if you want a spot by a fan.

Compadre Brewing

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

One of the newest breweries in town, Compadre allows dogs in their air-conditioned taproom and on their outdoor deck/patio area.

Draught House

Dog-friendly patio.

This British-style pub/brewery is another go-to spot while up North. They have a huge dog-friendly patio which stays nicely shaded and breezy.

Flying Man Brewing

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

If you’re willing to make the drive, Flying Man is another all-time favorite of ours. Dogs are allowed in the air-conditioned taproom and in their large patio.

Family Business Beer

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Family Business sits on a beautiful plot of land and allows (leashed) dogs both in their outdoor patio and in their air-conditioned tasting room.

Friends and Allies Brewing

Dog-friendly patio.

While we love their beer and their location, we only recommend bringing your pup to Friends and Allies on cooler days. They do not allow dogs in their taproom, but do have a covered patio. However, there isn’t a lot of airflow which leads to very hot pups in the summertime.

Hi Sign Brewing

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Located right by the Airport, Hi Sign allows dogs in their air-conditioned taproom and in their outdoor patio (which is more like a gorgeous backyard). Keep in mind it can get pretty noisy due to the airport, so we recommend bringing pups who don’t get anxious with loud noises.

Hitmaker Brewing

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Recently opened, Hitmaker allows dogs inside their beautifully air-conditioned taproom, making it a perfect beer-stop while driving in the Dripping Springs area.

Hopsquad Brewing Company

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

One of Austin’s newest (and most anticipated) breweries, Hopsquad’s spacious and open-concept taproom is totally dog-friendly. Since it’s new, it is often crowded so we recommend getting there early to nab a good spot inside.

Hops and Grain

Dog-friendly patio.

Another place with a great taproom that unfortunately doesn’t allow dogs inside. They do have a covered patio that is dog-friendly, but it’s in the parking lot so the concrete gets very hot during the summer. We recommend bringing your pups here only during cooler weather!

Independence Brewing

Dog-friendly patio.

While they used to allow dogs inside, Independence Brewing currently only allows dogs in their outdoor area. There isn’t a lot of shade (plus it’s in the parking lot), so we only recommend bringing the doggos when it’s cool outside.

Infamous Brewing Company

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Another brewery totally worth the drive is Infamous (can we count that as a pun?). They allow dogs in their air-conditioned taproom, as well as on their partly-shaded patio.

Jester King

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

One of our all-time favorite breweries, Jester King is extremely dog-friendly. They have a huge plot of land and dogs are allowed almost everywhere. It does get pretty hot, but they have lots of shaded spots with fans and misters.

Last Stand Brewing

Dog-friendly patio.

Dogs are not allowed in the taproom at Last Stand, but they are welcome on their nicely shaded patio. If you’re coming during the heat of the summer, get there early to grab a spot in the shade!

Lazarus Brewing

Dog-friendly room.

Lazarus features a dog-friendly room which is nicely covered and air-conditioned. They do not have bar service in that room, so you’ll have to either bring a friend or tie your pup up when you’re ready to order.

Live Oak Brewing Company

Partly-covered dog-friendly patio.

While dogs are not allowed in the taproom, Live Oak has a gorgeous back patio in which almost every seat is shaded by giant trees, making it a perfect spot to bring your dog.

Nomadic Beerworks

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Austin’s newest brewery, Nomadic is already doing. it. right. by allowing dogs inside their cool taproom. They also have a small outdoor area with lots of grass in case someone needs to potty.

Oddwood Ales

Uncovered dog-friendly patio.

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the Oddwood Ales taproom and their patio is fairly small and uncovered. Because of that, we don’t recommend bringing your pups here unless it’s a decent temperature outside.

Orf Brewing

Dog-friendly taproom and patio

This quaint little brewery allows dogs inside in the AC and outside on their shaded patio. Both are pretty small, so try getting there early to grab a good spot.

Oskar Blues

Covered dog-friendly patio.

Oskar Blues has a great partially covered patio with a large fan that’s perfect for hot summer days. They also have shaded spots down by the grass that are also dog-friendly.

Pinthouse Pizza Burnet

Dog-friendly patio.

Since they make food in-house, dogs are not allowed in the taproom. This location has a couple of outdoor tables, but no shade, so we only recommend bringing your pup on cooler days.

Pinthouse Pizza Lamar

Partly-covered dog-friendly patio.

Since they make food in-house, dogs are not allowed in the taproom. However, they do have limited seating on their outdoor patio that is dog-friendly and partially covered.

Red Horn Coffee House & Brewing Co

Dog-friendly patio/deck.

Serving both beer and coffee, Red Horn is one of my favorite work-from-home spots. Dogs are allowed on the nicely shaded patio and on their covered deck.

Rentsch Brewery

Covered dog-friendly patio.

If you’re up for the drive, this is one of our favorite dog-friendly spots in North Austin. They have a great covered patio, as well as grassy areas that are partially shaded.

Skull Mechanix Brewing Company

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Another one for the Southside! Skull Mechanix allows dogs in their air-conditioned taproom, making it a perfect spot for any day of the year.

Southern Heights Brewing

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

A great warehouse-style brewery, Southern Heights allows dogs in their breeze taproom as well as on their covered patio.

St. Elmo Brewing Company

Partly-covered dog-friendly patio.

While we adore St. Elmo, their partially covered patio can get pretty hot and sunny on those pesky summer (and spring and fall) days. They do not allow dogs in their taproom, so we either recommend getting there super early to grab a shaded spot, or leaving your dogs at home if it’s uncomfortable hot out.

Strange Land Brewery

Strange Land recently closed their taproom in preparation for their move. Stay tuned for updates.

Suds Monkey

Dog-friendly taproom.

A great option for those super-South Austinites, as they allow dogs in their air-conditioned taproom.

Twisted X Brewing

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Another great brewery in the Dripping Springs area, Twisted X allows dogs both in their air-conditioned taproom and on their gorgeous patio. Totally worth the drive if you ask us!

Two Wheel Brewing

Partly-shaded dog-friendly patio.

Basically in Buda, Two Wheel allows dogs in their roomy outdoor patio but not in their taproom. They have some umbrellas for shade, but it can get pretty warm during the summer so plan accordingly.

Vista Brewing

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

A great location out in the Hill Country, dogs are allowed in the air-conditioned taproom plus all over their grounds (keep those leashes on, please).

Whitestone Brewing

Covered dog-friendly patio.

A great dog-friendly option for those up North, Whitestone allows dogs in their covered and breezy patio.

Zilker Beer

Covered dog-friendly patio.

Zilker allows dogs on their covered patio, but it can get pretty warm during the summer, so get there early to snag one of the best spots! They even have some great doggy merch, so be on the lookout for that.

12 Fox Beer Company

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Dripping Springs has another fantastic brewery! 12 Fox has a property of a few acres, all of which are dog-friendly. They have a lot of outdoor picnic tables with lots of room for the pups, as well as a covered (but open/no AC) taproom. Definitely a must-stop if you’re driving that way!

4th Tap Brewing Company

Dog-friendly taproom and patio.

Another great pick with great AC, 4th Tap is one more summertime favorite for the dogs. Plus, their staff is so friendly and they readily have dog treats and bowls to keep their four-legged customers happy.

(512) Brewing

Dog-friendly patio

We’re waiting to get full confirmation on this one, but for now, it appears that 512 has a few outdoor tables where dogs are allowed! Check back soon for updates!
